Know who you are trading with, without asking them to prove it twice
Apidentity is a certificate a company earns once and shows to everyone. The company verifies itself against the business register and the published sanctions lists. Anyone it chooses can check the result in seconds, for nothing.
A manufacturer, a distributor and a reseller share the same customers. Each one verifies that customer separately, repeatedly, and to a different standard — and the customer fills in the same forms for every one of them. Nobody is better off for the duplication.
One certificate, held by the company itself, read by whoever it grants. The parties never exchange anything with each other; the holder does the sharing.
If somebody asked you to certify your company
You verify yourself — nobody does it for you, and that is what makes the result portable. It takes about two minutes, you need your registration number, and it is free and stays free. The certificate is yours: it works with every counterparty you choose to show it to, not only the one who asked.
You will have an invitation link. There is no sign-up here, on purpose — a certificate you could create for yourself unprompted would not be worth much.
You also get a badge for your own site, free like the rest of it. It is a link rather than a picture: a visitor who clicks it runs the same check anyone can run, and sees whether the badge is on a site you actually operate. Nothing loads from us until somebody clicks, so your visitors are not our visitors.
If you have to check somebody
Onboarding a customer or a vendor means establishing that a company exists, that the person signing can bind it, who ultimately owns it, and that none of them is on a restricted-party list. Apidentity does that once and lets your customer hand you the answer.
- CHECK
- Free, always. Does this certificate exist, whose is it, is it current. Try it — you only need an identifier somebody gave you.
- GRADE
- Paid. Whether they are ready to trade today, on a two-axis scale, with the reasons.
- DOSSIER
- Paid. The evidence, the ownership chain, the screening detail, and what the grade rests on.
The grade and the dossier are released by the holder's grant, one counterparty at a time, and every read is visible to them. That is not a limitation we work around — it is the reason a company is willing to be certified at all.
It does not decide whether you may trade with anyone. It establishes who a company is, and grades what the public record says about it. The decision stays yours, and so does the obligation.
It does not classify goods for export, and it does not determine licence requirements. Both are the exporter's, in law.
How the answer is reached
- REGISTER
- The national business register, read directly. For France, the public API — no reseller between us and the source.
- VAT
- The European Commission's VIES, as a second independent authority.
- DOCUMENT
- A Kbis or equivalent extract, parsed. A certificate needs two distinct kinds of proof, never two readings of one.
- SCREENING
- The BIS Entity List, Denied Persons, OFAC SDN, the State Department lists and the EU consolidated list — downloaded and matched here, so no name is ever sent to a third party.
- AUTHORITY
- The person declaring is matched against the officers the register names, and identified in their own right. Being named in a public register is not evidence that you are the person typing.
Every check carries which source answered, on what date, and the hash of what it returned. A grade with no way to interrogate it is a credit score, and the standing objection to those is that nobody can see inside them.
Hosted in the European Union. Adesio does not process biometric data: where a declarant must be identified beyond control of a work mailbox, that is done by a qualified trust service under eIDAS, and what reaches us is a signature rather than a face.
No subprocessor holds any of it — screening reads the published lists in process, so the name of the company being checked is never sent anywhere. The trust centre has the controls, the subprocessor list and the frameworks we do and do not hold.
